Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Andile Jali reportedly spent a night behind bars after he was arrested for domestic abuse.
Andile allegedly assaulted his wife Nonhle Ndala and police refused to release him from custody. He will remain in custody until his court appearance on Tuesday, according to a report by SowetanLIVE.
The soccer star is also accused of damaging Nonhle's car and faces a charge of malicious damage to property.
While the damage to the car was serious, Nonhle's injuries are reported to be less severe.
Yeroboam Mbatsane of the Boschkop police station gave a short statement:
The whole incident started when security officials, where Jali stays, called the police due to the fracas. The woman was not seriously hurt, and the only thing was that the car she was driving was damaged.
This comes after Nonhle came up for Andile recently. She dismissed the rumours that her husband has a substance abuse problem, as reported on earlier by Briefly. She claims that this is all a smear campaign that is designed to ruin their marriage.
