A determined man in Cape Town has completed his university studies despite being diagnosed with depression in 2017.
Ludidi Velani took to Twitter to share the inspiring news recently, Briefly.co.za gathered. He wrote:
Today is a special day to me. I submitted my last paper and I am literally done with varsity. I worked and studied full time. In 2017 I was diagnosed with depression after checking myself in for counselling. I was told quit working or studying because I could not handle it anymore.
Ludidi explained that he couldn't quit his job because he had no other sources of income. He also couldn't quit his studies because he needed the qualification. He added:
I have supportive friends and family who were there for me. I am proud that I never gave up and will be graduating in December. I am so proud of myself. I can't wait to experience the moment.
According to his Twitter bio, Ludidi works as a journalist and aspires to be photographer. He has been studying journalism.
His story inspired hundreds of tweeps. They praised him for his determination and congratulated him for completing his studies.
