However, a video started circulating on social media over the weekend which would without a doubt break motorists' trust in car watches.

On Monday, South Africa Live shared the video on YouTube which saw a car guard aiding thugs while they looted a bakkie in Johannesburg.

The footage showed two thieves breaking into a white bakkie while a car guard stands next to them. However, Briefly.co.za gathered not only did the man in the vest stand and watch, he kept a lookout for them before helping himself.

The car watch could be seen looking around and quickly grabbing something out of the bakkie before he ran away, following the thieves who broke into the vehicle.

Unfortunately for the car guard, the busy street had a couple of people on it and one South African managed to capture the entire incident on his camera.

Thus far, not much is known about the robbery and it is not clear whether the car guard merely saw an opportunity or if he was part of the group who robbed the bakkie.
