- The memorial service for HHP took place at Bassline in Johannesburg on Tuesday
- In a heart-breaking speech, Lerato Sengadi paid tribute to her fiancé and his music
- She hopes to honour the late rapper by protecting his legacy
Family, friends and fans of HHP gathered at Bassline in Johannesburg to celebrate the late rapper’s life and legacy during his memorial service. Despite the recent controversy surrounding her relationship with the musician, publicist Lerato Sengadi took to the stage to deliver an emotional speech.
Briefly.co.za previously reported that HHP’s family have slammed Lerato’s claims of being married to the late rapper, however she was still allowed to pay tribute to her former flame.
The couple had been engaged and in the middle of lobola negotiations, but broke things off last year when Lerato moved out.
As she delivered her speech, the publicist tried to fight back tears as she reflected on their relationship.
Lerato fondly referred to HHP as her husband as she poured her heart out in front of the crowd that had gathered to remember the music icon.
The publicist described how much she loved the late rapper, even though he often felt that he didn’t deserve her affection.
According to TimesLIVE, Lerato believes that a love like theirs doesn’t come around often and she feels that the only way to honour their relationship, is for her to protect the legacy he worked so hard to create.
Lerato ended off her speech by vowing that she will meet her love in the next life but she is glad that he is no longer suffering from the pain that he experienced during his lifetime.
