After battling breast cancer, Zoleka Mandela was warned that any future pregnancies could have a serious impact on her health but despite the odds, she is preparing to welcome a new addition to her family.
Zoleka’s oncologist warned her that if she does manage to fall pregnant, there is a high risk that her cancer could return and be far more aggressive than it has been in the past.
The two time breast cancer survivor took to Instagram to reveal that she has a bun in the oven and she is overjoyed that her pregnancy has gone well so far.
In her post, Zoleka reflected on an old saying that her grandmother, Winnie Madikizela-Mandela used to say to her all the time.
Briefly.co.za learned that Ma Winnie used to tell her granddaughter that she was pulling a caravan, but now Zoleka jokes that she is now pushing one too.
TimesLIVE reports that in January, Zoleka revealed the effects that the cancer had on her body.
The author explained that the extra weight gain and the increase of oestrogen in her body speeds up the growth of cancer cells, so there is still a chance that her cancer could spread.
