A 66-year-old man from Claremont in Cape Town managed to defy doctor's expectations by living after they gave him only days to survive- but, his luck did not end there.
Two-years-ago, doctors told an elderly man he had only three days left before he would die. He recalled being "down and out" and nearly giving up.
He has a heart condition and he decided to stop using his medication, because "God was keeping him alive" for some reason. The Daily Sun reported the man also lost his house in 2013 after it burnt down to the ground.
However, 24 months have passed since he was given the bad news and he is still going strong. Briefly.co.za learned not only was he lucky enough to survive, he also hit the lotto jackpot.
The man, who collected his winnings with his two daughters recently, won R41 million in the lotto Powerball.
His win did not come as much of a surprise to the madala because he had a feeling he would win, his youngest daughter revealed.
Now, he plans to build a home for him and his wife and also for his four kids because he wants them all to be "neighbours".
His daughter added they were going to look out for their dad, so that people do not take advantage of his kindness now that he is a multi-millionaire.
Congratulations to the madala!
