A young hero in Cape Town is making sure that learners affected by the recent fire in Khayelitsha are still able to study and sit for their exams.

Athenkosi Nzala organised a relief response to provide the learners study spaces, textbooks, and transport.

Briefly.co.za gathered that he did this through AfrikaCan! Foundation, a nonprofit organisation he founded.

According to Beautiful News, AfrikaCan! Foundation mentors and inspires youths from underprivileged communities in their quest for education.

Athenkosi said he began his initiative soon after obtaining his degree in Civil Engineering at the University of Cape Town.

The young hero said his mission is to mentor as many young people as he can through their studies and up to the point of choosing their careers. He added:

If our youth is equipped with knowledge and compassion, they can conquer anything. I am just doing what I can to uplift the quality of life for my people.
