Briefly.co.za gathered that some pundits are bemused by the coach’s confidence following Chiefs’ 2-1 loss to the Buccaneers during the last derby.

Pirates were full value for their victory on that day and many would give them the edge over Chiefs in the next encounter.

Referencing the previous result, Solinas stated, “After we lost the derby, the reaction of my boys today was very positive. They showed character‚ desire‚ commitment‚ a great performance.”

Sections of Chiefs fans jeered midfielder George Maluleka following a wayward passing display but Solinas leapt to his defence.

The Italian coach cited the midfielder’s injury at the start of the season and called for patience while Maluleka regains top fitness.
