- A Johannesburg-based man is on a mission to create a business incubator

- Nevertheless, he remains determined to succeed
A determined man based in Johannesburg is on a mission to establish a business incubator to help aspiring entrepreneurs connect with investors.
The unnamed man shared his dream on Humans of New York's Facebook page recently, Briefly.co.za gathered.
His platform would make it easier for startups in South Africa to get funding. He said he has been working on it for about a year now.
However, the man has suffered several setbacks in his quest, chief among them limited financial resources. He explained:
It’s not looking promising. I’ve got about two or three months of runway left. The bank has been calling me every day because of the credit card. And my car just broke down, which will probably eat up twenty percent of my remaining reserves. My options are running out.
Nevertheless, he has chosen to focus on the brighter side of things. For instance, he has already built an initial platform that has a few users.
The entrepreneur has also built networks and gained insights as well as invaluable experience. He concluded:
Experienced people have told me that I’m working on an important problem. And that validation means more than money. So even if this particular business fails, I’ll try again. But next time I’ll come back at a better angle.
Commenters on the post urged the man not to give up. Seandre Vetter wrote:
Don't give up. I've lost everything I've worked for, and started from zero about 3 times in the last 10 years. I've gained so much experience though. So many connections. So many valuable friends. I'm still here. Still trying. Cheers from a South African in Cairo.
Several commenters also wished to get in touch with the man to potentially partner with him on his venture.
