- The only thing that has tainted it all, is the fact that her children have been bullied over it

- However, her children have grown a thick skin as they see nothing wrong with their mother being exactly who she is

Due to her sexuality, Nomsa Buthelezi was forced to instil in her children to have a thick skin to homophobia. She spoke out about how they were bullied.

The Our Perfect Wedding presenter waited sometime to come out about her sexuality as she feared being rejected.

No that all is out on the table, Nomsa is over the moon to be able to share her happiness with her partner, Zandile Shezi. The only drawback is that her children have been the ones that have been negatively affected. learnt she is proud to say that she has an amazing relationship with her children and that they are able to discuss anything.

Nomsa says her children are aware of her sexuality and they understand. Even though they are bullied at school, her children make the other children aware that their moms have a husband and their mom can have a wife and that’s life!

Having children when there is a sexuality matter, it is not always that easy to handle.

Kids pick up when their parents are happy or not and Nomsa says that her children knew who she was even before she embraced it.

Nomsa’s teenage son took the bullying he received in his stride. He accepted that not people understand homosexuals and some just refuse.

Despite all the negativity, overall her children have handle things very well and their mom being a lesbian has not shaken them!

Been part of the LGBTQI+community, and an OWP presenter, she has had to help people in her circle of life understand who and what she is all about. This will only work if they are prepared to listen and understand.

This trait Nomsa has, is also in her children. She says her 14-year-old son has pleasantly surprised her. He completely understands who she is and both kids love and embrace her as their mom.

When she introduced to Zandile, Nomsa’s son said that he’s mom has been so much happier since Zandile came into their lives.

Nothing was forced on the children, the connection between them all was so natural.
