Residents of Mokopane, Limpopo, were pleasantly surprised on Saturday after a group of guys showed up to the local Chicken Licken in a donkey cart.
Chicken Licken's slogan, "For those truly South African at heart", was quite fitting to a group of young men this past weekend.
In a video, which had been circulating on social media, the guys were spotted queuing at the fast food outlet in a donkey car.
Briefly.co.za gathered Terrence Mastersox Tsebe shared the video on Facebook on Saturday, and it showed the young men having the time of their lives.
The Daily Sun reported the restaurant's manager, Solomon Molomo, added the guys were just having some fun, they did not buy anything.
He added there were a lot of donkey carts in town but it was the first time someone used the drive through in one. Molomo said the drive through should be strictly used by cars.
“It’s not allowed. Imagine if someone’s car gets scratched in the process. Who will be blamed?” he added.
According to one of the donkey cart drivers, 22-year-old Jabu Lebelo, the Mokopane uses donkey transportation to generate an income. He added on a good day he makes R500 by transporting building material from Mokopane to surrounding townships.
