Grade 8 learner wows audience with phenomenal gospel song performance

Every once in a while, a phenomenal talent comes along and takes everyone's breath away. Port Elizabeth Grade 8 learner Likhwithemba Booi is one such talent.

The Khwezi Lomso Comprehensive School learner showcased his amazing vocal range with a rendition of Jonathan McReynolds’ gospel song Everything recently.

He was performing at his school's matric sendoff, Good Things Guy reports. His astounding performance inspired a prolonged standing ovation from the audience.

Likhwithemba sang the song without any backup instrumentals, Briefly.co.za gathered. His wide and soulful vocal range moved the audience in a profound way.

Interestingly, Likhwithemba's dad, Kholisile Kotla Booi, is the lead singer of a local gospel group. Kholisile acknowledged his son's talent, but insisted that school comes first.

The young learner's teacher, Ericka Ferreira, said the video was shared on the school's alumni Facebook page and went viral:

I was totally blown away when the video went viral. The whole school is so proud of Likhwithemba.

Commenters on the video also praised Likhwithemba's talent. Dudu Nancy Dlamini wrote:

Wow..wow.. That's a talent to the highest level! Well done boy. May God bless you more.
