The English Premier League is well and truly underway, and the race to win the prestigious Golden Boot award has sure begun in earnest.

Liverpool star forward Mohamed Salah is seeking to claim the title this season having won it in the 2017/18 season after a record-breaking haul of 32 goals.

However, the Egyptian talisman is facing stiff competition from Chelsea forward Eden Hazard, Man City star Sergio Aguero and Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang who currently lead the the pack.

Following his thunderous strike against Man United in the Manchester derby on Sunday, November 11 at Etihad, Aguero is topping the goalscoring charts with eight goals to his name.

Hazard is joint second with Aubameyang, having notched seven goals each after a blistering start to the campaign with their respective clubs.

Tottenham Hotspurs top marksman, Harry Kane and Mo Salah rank third with six goals each alongside six other Premier League stars who include Manchester United's Anthony Martial and Liverpool's Sadio Mane.

Brighton's Glenn Murray and Bournemouth's Callum Wilson have emerged as unlikely contenders for the Golden Boot award, Briefly.co.za learned. The duo continues to enjoy an impressive start to the season.
