According to veteran actor Dumisani Mbebe, Langa Shabalala cannot act. Langa joined The River as Lindani but hasn't impressed the former Generations actor, it seems.

Dumi voiced his opinion on social media, saying 'the boy can't act'.

Dumi is clearly frustrated by the situation; he feels that actors get hired based on how many followers they have on social media and how attractive they are, rather than their acting talent.

OkMzansi reports that Dumi voiced commented on a post by the entertainment commentator Phil Mphela, in which he said Langa's acting has improved since joining the popular TV series.

Dumi seemed to have gotten a little worked up, saying some actors don't grow, viewers get used to them.

We need characters that are good to look at because of all the intricacies, not actors that are good to look at at the expense of the character. Character is of paramount importance and that is the job of the actor. Some actors don't grow. The audience gets used to them.

Harsh words, Dumi. We can't help but wonder what Langa thought about the criticism.
