Nomsa Buthelezi has revealed that many people have accused her of pretending to be lesbian as a way of looking for attention, however, she is doing her best to push through.

Coming out of the closet is difficult for most people and they are often treated very differently once they have made their sexuality known and it has been no different for Nomsa.

Briefly.co.za previously reported that the ‘Our Perfect Wedding’ host has been receiving a lot of hate after she publicly announced that the love of her life was a woman and even her kids are now being bullied at school.

While she has had to deal with people’s harsh words, she couldn’t be happier now that she can truly be herself and to not hide anything about her life.

Nomsa admitted that she has been cursed at, degraded and insulted because of the fact that she is a lesbian, however, many also feel that this is all one big publicity stunt.

While she has had to deal with a lot of negativity about her lifestyle, the TV presenter has also inspired many other women to follow her example and to be honest about their sexuality.

Many women feel like they can’t be true to themselves so they try to keep up appearances by finding a husband. While she could have just gone down that route, but Nomsa decided that she needed to stay true to herself.

TimesLIVE reports that Nomsa always knew that she had feelings for women, however, it took her some time before she put herself out there and to truly explore how she felt.

While homophobia is still prominent in Mzansi, Nomsa was very surprised that her family were so supportive about her coming out and they were glad that she was finally living her truth.
