Twitter left shook over photos of Khayelitsha patients sleeping on hospital floor

On Tuesday, a social media user shared photographs of the shocking conditions in the Khayelitsha hospital.

The photos, which were posted on Twitter by Benjamin Zantsi, showed patients sleeping on the floor while the awaited medical care.

Zantsi captioned the post: "See how #Khayelitsha residents have zero access to basic Health care. This is supposed to be a District hospital. @nomafrench @HealthZA @WHO. These are real humanbeings..."

Briefly.co.za gathered South Africans were appalled by the photos and they took to the social media platform to share their views on the basic health care in the country.

Social media user @SomiZee commented: "Sana that hospital is a nightmare, you'd swear only one doctor is working for the whole hospital. Andifun noybona landaw"
Another tweep, @Zafferology, wrote: "Proudly brought to you by @myanc as this is a national portfolio."
@mbongwasboniso added: "Looks like they're out-patients waiting on being attended to by uDokotela sleeping on the floor kodwa"
Bulie, who goes by the Twitter handle @Bulie82637759, said: "We shall be told this problem has been caused by: gigaba, anc, mkhwebane, gama, moyane, brian (eskom), hlaudi, state capture, eff, bathabile, nomvula, ace magashule and others who are usually the scapegoats."
