Ordinarily, a man getting a fresh haircut is not news, but Marouane Fellaini's decision to shave his iconic afro locks has taken football fans and his teammates by surprise.

The Manchester United midfielder took to social media on Wednesday afternoon, November 14 to flaunt his new look.

"New year, new look #birthdaytomorrow," Fellaini wrote alongside a picture of his new barnet.

His new unrecognizable look has elicited mixed reactions on the web, with many, including his own teammates expressing their disapproval of the haircut.

Manchester City defender Vincent Kompany exhibited his disbelief, asserting that Fellaini's new trim was nothing but photoshop.

"It a photoshopped. It can't be true!!" the City captain said.
