Joshua Haynes found himself stuck on the freeway as he suffered a tyre burst.

He may have been surprised to receive help from an unlikely source – a taxi driver.

The unnamed driver stopped to assist and offered Haynes a lift.

The Good Samaritan even allowed Haynes to use his phone to make contact with his mother.

He showed real interest in the young man’s safety as he called about an hour later to check if everything was in order.

Goodthingsguy.com reported on the incident as Joshua’s mother, Karen Bruwer, made contact with them via social media.

Karen was so overwhelmed with appreciation that she posted a message to thank the taxi driver.

Taxi drivers often bear the brunt of criticism for their behaviour on the roads but this incident clearly shows that there are some with hearts of gold.
