Thandi wanted tourists from around the world to learn more about the Xhosa culture, so she decided to open her home to visitors. Since June of 2017, Thandi's Khaya has been hosting people from around the world.
Thandi's Khaya, which means Thandi's Home, is situated in Gxara Village in Morgan Bay. She has been welcoming tourists to stay with her for more than a year now and enjoys sharing the Xhosa culture with them.
Morgan Bay is a favourite with tourists and a place like Thandi's Khaya is a unique experience that they will talk about for years after their visit.
As GoodThingsGuy reports, Morgan Bay offers a gorgeous beach with safe swimming spots and stunning views.
Thandi offers visitors a look at Xhosa culture by welcoming them into her daily routine. She also gives visitors traditional home-cooked meals and the locally brewed beer that is called umqombothi.
Thandi's Khaya is more than just a room to stay in, it's an experience. There is a modern brick house as well as a traditional mud hut.
Visitors are invited to live and see traditional Xhosa life and culture, and we're proud to have tourists visit this khaya.
