Losing a child to death is never easy, especially when they are taken at a young age. To parents who have to say goodbye to their kids even before they could teach them to say 'mommy' or 'daddy', the pain lingers eternally.
One can never really 'get over' the death of your child. You learn to live with the pain.
Mona Skenjana and her husband, Khulu, lost their second born child just a week after she was born.
Little Amani-Amaza Wamazulu Skenjana brought joy into the family of three's lives, just to be ripped from them so suddenly.
On November 15 it was a year since Amani-Amaza passed away and Mona took a moment to remember her little angel.
Tomorrow would've been Amani-Amaza's first birthday. A part of me lingers on the memory of how my soul broke when she passed whilst another celebrates the life she gave me. It is funny how we can break and grow all in the same moment...
Tweeps felt Mona's pain and sent her messages of encouragement on social media:
@PhettyMaNgobeni - It’s the pain that brings us closer to the light. The hurt that makes us appreciate what true joy is. It’s loss that makes us believe in life. The power and strength in you grows ten folds because you know how it feels to lose a part of you and still get up from that
@Queen_Raylea - Sending you and Khulu my love....
@MelcahMailula - sending #Huggs#sesi.
