- The Economic Freedom Fighters broke through Nissan's gates and let themselves onto the premises.
- The group was there to hand over a memorandum to the company that demands they appoint their employees permanently.
- No injuries were reported but, a video shows how violent things got at one point
The EFF has been busy. They recently joined Dischem workers who were striking over wages in Midrand, and they also stormed the Nissan plant in Rosslyn.
A large group of EFF members broke open the plant's gates and made their way onto the premises.
A video of the incident was uploaded on social media by @crimeairnetwork, according to a report by The South African.
The incident took place on 15 November.
The security officers that were meant to guard the gates were overwhelmed and badly outnumbered by the huge, riotous crowd.
Briefly.co.za gathered that the EFF handed Nissan a memorandum that allegedly demands that the company permanently employ their South African labourers.
As can be seen in the video, things got violent as EFF members attacked Nissan's security guards. However, no injuries were reported.
No comment by the EFF leadership as of yet.
