A young woman and her husband rushed to hospital as she went into labour but her twin babies decided not to wait until they arrived at hospital.
Dacia Pittman (23) was pregnant with twins and was looking forward to meeting them.
She could not have predicted the circumstances in which they arrived into the world though.
Pittman woke up early on the morning of November 5th with some minor cramping.
She alerted her husband, Marcus Giffin, and their 2 sons as they left for their nearest hospital in Ohio.
The Marietta Times reported that the young mother was pregnant for 38 weeks at that point.
Pittman revealed, “We got onto the interstate and not even five minutes out, I could feel a head coming out.”
Rather than panicking, her motherly instincts kicked in as she directed her family on the best way forward.
She requested her husband to focus on the journey to the hospital and for her children to enable her to recline her seat.
Within 20 minutes of exiting the house, their son, Everett, was born.
Following another 10 minutes, Pittman delivered a baby girl, named Amelia.
Pittman praised her older children for their composure during the tense delivery.
The family eventually arrived at hospital and the babies were both deemed healthy.
A relieved Pittman said, “I was so surprised it even happened and after it was finally done and both of them were on my stomach, it started to sink in.”
