Twitter reacted in full force to a tweet sent by user, @emmalez, on Wednesday.

Known as Ogochukwu, the man criticised women who are focused on landing successful men.

His tweet delivered a firm statement that women shouldn’t seek to find a successful man, but rather, to help make him successful.

The message drew strong reactions from all corners.

The initial responses were very tongue-in-cheek as tweeps made light of the situation.

However, @Queennanie1 soon questioned the merits of the tweet.

She shared that she stayed with her partner for 3 years, while he was broke. She prayed for him and assisted him but he left her as soon as he started acquiring more wealth.

User, @Chancy_Cool, provided a different perspective as he commented on what men have to endure from their women while struggling financially. gathered that many female tweeps strongly disagreed with Ogochukwu and saw nothing wrong with wanting the finished product.

It was soon evident that a mini battle of the sexes was starting to brew.
