A lot of people would trade in their mother for the opportunity to take a picture with Beyoncé, but not John Kani.

Briefly.co.za learnt that Kani was recently on eNCA to talk about the movie. After the official trailer was release, people from all over the world blew up with excitement.

Mzansi’s legendary actor bagged a timeless role as Rafiki in the remake of The Lion King.This means that he has spent a lot of time with Beyoncé and a bunch of other very famous international A-listers.

Having already starred in ‘Black Panther’, Kani is not fazed by commercialised fame. To him, they are now just his fellow colleagues.

In the interview with eNCA, Kani stated that working on The Lion King, was ‘incredible’. He also said that a lot of his voiceover time was done at a studio in Bryanston 'as South Africa has the most advanced studios’ which allowed him to do so.

One of the funniest parts of the interview was when Kani stated that the reason he never took a picture with Beyoncé was ‘because she didn't ask for it’. It was his daughter, Atandwa, who was flabbergasted by the fact that he had not taken a picture with Beyoncé in all that time.

Kani is a real character. Having worked with big names like Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston, Kani is already desensitised by the whole star struck thing. Besides, he’s a damn star himself.
