- Elvis was mugged recently and had his front teeth knocked out in the process
- His employer, Jodie, reached out to her local Facebook group for help
- Well-wishers fundraised for Elvis to get brand new dentures and he can now smile again confidently
A young man in Johannesburg who lost his front teeth in a violent mugging recently has a reason to smile again.
Well-wishers fundraised for the man, named Elvis, to get brand new dentures, Good Things Guy reports. His employer, Jodie Storm Falconer, raised his predicament in a local Facebook group:
One of my workers was mugged and they hit his front teeth out. He can’t afford a normal dentist rate in order to fix his teeth. He is so shy and embarrassed to talk and I believe it is affecting him daily.
Commenters on her post said the usual waiting period for dentures is about two to five years. However, a determined Jodie wasn't prepared to wait for that long, Briefly.co.za learned.
Luckily, an unnamed dentist offered free consultation services for Elvis. Just a month later, Elvis had his denture impression taken.
However, fitting the dentures required money. Well-wishers in the Facebook group fundraised and made it possible.
A grateful Elvis can now smile confidently again. He expressed his profuse appreciation to Jodie and the well-wishers for helping him.
