A tweep, who has been identified as Yannick Leyka, warmed the hearts of social media users after he shared how he fulfilled a promise to his mother.
Most parents only want the best for their kids and they would do whatever they can to give their children the best lives. However, parents can only do so much and at the end of the day, success depends on the child's decisions and motivation to succeed.
When Leyka was just five-years-old, he already knew he wanted to become a doctor. But, he had one more reason to pursue his dream- he made his mother a promise.
The 27-year-old explained he finally fulfilled his promise to his mother after more than two decades after he graduated from Wits University.
"When I was 5 years old I promised my mom I would become a doctor, 22 years later promise fulfilled," he wrote on Twitter.
Briefly.co.za gathered social media users were inspired by the young man's post and they flooded his comment section with congratulations messages. He even got a shout out from Tumi Sole.
Social media user @skhokho_ commented: "Congratulations my brother. Just passed my 3rd year. In few years time I'll be there with you. I'm inspired by your moves."
