As she braced herself to put on her wedding dress, the groom’s father called.

Her mother, Dorah Rathethe, from Tembisa answered and conveyed the challenging message to Makgomo – the wedding was called off.

Dorah said she then left the room as her daughter needed time to regain her composure.

The Daily Sun reported that lobola to the value of R20 000 had been paid and the wedding date set for 17th November.

Dorah also revealed that her family was angered by the behaviour of the groom’s family.

She said, “People are laughing at us because of something which is not of our doing. I felt to cancel the wedding over the phone was disrespectful. They never even drove here to tell us face to face.”

The jilted bride said she reached the point where she just wants the groom, Tshepo Nthane, out of her life.

Briefly.co.za understands that this was not the first time that Nthane got cold feet.

To complicate matters further, Nthane has disappeared altogether and a missing person’s report has been filed.

Nthane’s father, John, shared that the family is disappointed by his disappearance and wants an explanation from his son when he returns home.
