- She tried looking for the owner at the mall to no avail
- She has now launched a hunt for the ring's owner on Facebook and her post has gone viral
An honest woman in Johannesburg is determined to find the real owner of a ring she found at Sandton City shopping mall over the weekend.
24-year-old Cheyenne Grobler found the ring in a bathroom, TimesLIVE reports. She asked around, including at the information desk, but couldn't find the owner.
She subsequently posted photos of the ring on her Facebook and Instagram profiles, Briefly.co.za gathered.
In her Facebook post, Cheyenne wrote:
Found a ring in the bathroom by the food court in Sandton City... I know it seems like a small thing, but it means something to someone... Just trying to find the owner.
The post has gone viral, racking up well over 12,500 shares. This shows that social media users are keen to help her find the ring's owner.
Cheyenne is careful to avoid giving the ring to someone who might claim it under false pretences. Some tried, but couldn't describe it. She said:
There’s a very small detail on the ring which the only person who would know is the actual owner.
Meanwhile, social media users have commended Cheyenne for her honesty. Commenting on her Facebook post, Lilian van Tonder said:
That is so sweet of you. You are a good example to us all of being truthful and honest. You deserve to find the owner, hopefully!
