Banyana Banyana has shown Mzansi how it’s done. The South African national female soccer team have earned themselves a spot in the 2018 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) final as well as qualifying the 2019 FIFA World Cup in France.

Briefly.co.za learnt that, on Tuesday evening, they won 2-0 against Mali in a semi-final match. This game was their defining point, the game that made their glory possible.

In a press release, the Minister in the Presidency Responsible for Women, Minister Bathabile Dlamini, took time to congratulate the team on their outstanding achievement. She also highlighted the fact that the female side has far less resources, support, exposure, and even earn less, than their male counterparts, yet here they sit, bathing in glory.

“What is most striking is that Banyana Banyana has achieved much with fewer resources than their male counterparts,” stated Dlamini with pride.

Thembi Kgatlhane was the lady who gave Banyana Banyana the head start that they needed. She scored a goal in the first 31 minutes of the game. With hat being her fifth goal in four games, it is safe to say that she is the team’s star scorer.

In the 80th minute, it was Lebohang Ramalepe who scored the second victory goal for our ladies.
