The National Prosecuting Authority has revealed that it has dropped the Estina Dairy case on the grounds on insufficient evidence
The NPA has revealed that it has temporarily dropped the Estina Dairy case. The scandal made headlines after R250 Million meant for poor black farmers was transferred to Gupta-linked enterprises instead.
Members of the notorious family and their business associates were arrested on various charges relating to the illegal R250 Million deal. These charges included charges of fraud, theft, conspiracy to commit fraud and theft as well as contravening the Public Finance Act.
The National Prosecuting Authority has reportedly dropped the charges on the grounds of what it deems to be insufficient evidence to secure a conviction.
The Authority has revealed that it will be dropping the charges as of December 4 and will be reinstating the case once more information has been obtained.
