It shows a man with a sign indicating that he had been retrenched and is seeking employment.

Barbara was so touched by the man’s plight that she shared the image via social media in the hope of finding him some assistance.

She added, “It takes a great deal of desperation to stand and look for a job like this in the hot sun.”

The post went viral as it was shared more than 8 000 times.

Briefly.co.za gathered that the vast majority were moved and tried their best to help.

However, some did not agree with the status quo and criticised the man’s decision to stand at the side of the road.

Willie van Wyk offered to accept and review his C.V.

However, Chris Ferreira was not impressed as he was critical of the approach of standing on a corner.

Ferreira emigrated to Australia and South Africans stood in unison behind the unemployed gentleman.

However, Ferreira stood defiant in his beliefs.

If anything, the post proved that South Africans have a strong sense of humanity and willingness to help each other.
