A school bus carrying 40 children to school has collided with a truck in Diepsloot, Johannesburg this morning. One of the children has been airlifted to hospital.

A horrifying accident occurred in Diepsloot, Johannesburg, this morning when a school bus carrying 40 children and a truck collided.

The collision occurred this morning at 6:50am on the R114 and R511.

“One critically injured child has been airlifted to hospital via Netcare 2, a specialised helicopter ambulance. Thirty-seven patients have been treated for a number of injuries, including fractures and burns.” Said Jurgen Kotze, chief operating officer at Emer-G-Med.

Jurgen Kotze confirmed that emergency services are still trying to extract a patient with injuries from the truck.
