Patricia de Lille revealed the new identity of her newly formed political party and South Africans are wondering if it will be ‘Good’ enough
Patricia de Lille, former Cape Town mayor, has revealed the identity of her new political party and Twitter is amused.
De Lille revealed that her new party would simply be called Good. The parties main focus will be on spatial, social, economic and environmental justices.
“It is a simple and authentic name that says quite boldly what we stand for and that we are here to disrupt politics as usual,” she said in a statement.
According to the former mayor, her party already enjoys the support of thousands of South Africans who have joined their ranks.
De Lille had previously created a party called the Independent Democrats in 2003 which later merged with the DA in 2010.
Briefly.co.za had reported that in November when De Lille had resigned from her post as mayor she had said in her announcement:
“I am not on any chronic medication at my age. I really have a lot of energy left. So it is time for a new political party,”
