The Global Citizen Festival produced a stellar show inside the FNB stadium on Sunday.

However, it was a horror show outside of it as concert-goers were at the mercy of criminals after the event.

Reports surfaced that many attendees were attacked, robbed, beaten and even raped during the crime spree.

Amidst all the drama and anguish, Ntsiki Mazwai has seemingly justified the theft that took place.

The South African poet was lambasted via social media though as many took her to task for her comments.

Briefly.co.za gathered that some of her usual supporters even questioned her stance.

However, some Mazwai supporters were defiant in the face of the criticism and some feel her attack was directed at event organisers rather than those attending the event.

While the exact motive remains unclear, it seems Mazwai’s reputation took a massive hit following the tweet.
