Trevor Noah was part of the star-studded entertainment for the Global Citizen Festival, and he enjoyed being back in his home country.

As a host for the festival, he did a great job, as he always does.

While here, Trevor decided to make a stop in Soweto and visit his gogo. The two talked about many things, from how handsome he was as a baby to how black South Africans saw Nelson Mandela as a god.

IOL News reported on how Trevor took his crew to Nomalizo Frances Noah's home for the surprise visit and gave his fans a look at the woman he loves.

Trevor and Nomalizo sat down in her small kitchen and talked about his childhood. Trevor insisted he must have been a very handsome baby.

His grandmother remembered - with a whistle for emphasis - that he was an energetic and naughty young boy.

The comedian shared a short video of the visit with his fans on social media.

While Nomalizo clearly loves and support her grandson, she can't always watch his show. She blames Eskom's load shedding for that.

From the way Trevor treated his gogo, he clearly loves and respects her a lot. As usual, Trevor makes us proud to say he's born and bred in South Africa.
