Billionaire Patrice Motsepe's announcement at the Global Citizen Festival that he would be donating a large sum towards sustainable development and land reform has caused a stir on Facebook with over 200 comments on the matter
Briefly.co.za reported earlier that SA billionaire, Patrice Motsepe, has pledged to donate a whopping R3.5 billion towards the country's land reform goals.
The money will go towards sustainable development and the issue of land reform. Motsepe made the promise at FNB Stadium during the Global Citizen Festival.
This comes after millions have been pledged for various causes during the festival, as reported on by The Citizen.
The post received mixed reactions with some singing his praises for his kindness and self-sacrifice whilst others were concerned with how the funding would be managed.
People can hardly be blamed for this as in the past similar projects had failed largely due to lack of accountability for funds as well as little to no support for the people involved.
