A prison inmate is seen in a viral video showing off his luxury items, including Louis Vuitton clothes and Gucci shoes.
Parody account @AdvBarryRoux shared the video on Twitter yesterday, Briefly.co.za gathered.
It shows the inmate, who called himself Tebogo Makena, showing off an invoice of R13,000 apparently from a Louis Vuitton shop in Sandton.
Tebogo boasted to his fellow inmate, who was the one taking the video, that he doesn't buy stuff Pretoria's Marabastad market.
The inmate apparently had expensive Louis Vuitton outfits in his prison cell. The video also briefly showed his Gucci shoes towards the end.
According to The Citizen, Tebogo also boasted of drinking Jacobs Kronung coffee and having All Bran Flakes for breakfast. A pricey Russel Hobbs kettle could also be seen in the clip.
It's unclear in which prison and when the video was taken. Nevertheless, it has sparked both outrage and bemusement among South Africans on social media.
Some expressed outrage that inmates could live such luxury lives behind bars.
Others saw the funny side of it.
