King Monada's hit song Malwedhe is so popular that it now has a cover version specially made in China.

Popular Twitter user Christo Thurston shared a video of a Chinese group performing a slower and more sentimental version of the song recently.

The three-man group strummed a guitar, beat a drum, and played a hand instrument as one of them sang the "Idibala" hook.

Although their identities remain unclear, their performance impressed South Africans on social media.

It garnered close to 2,000 likes and over 900 retweets on Twitter, Briefly.co.za gathered. Many Twiter users praised the short performance.
