Arts and Culture Minister, Nathi Mthethwa, unveiled a statue in honour of former president, Nelson Mandela, but South Africans don’t see the resemblance.
The unveiling took place in China at the JinTai Art Museum.
The sculpture is known as the “Statue of a statesman” and Mthethwa shared the experience via social media.
In the same breath, the minister thanked the artist, Mr. Yikun, as well.
Unfortunately for the minister, fellow South Africans were left feeling uninspired.
Briefly.co.za gathered that many feel the controversial bust bares no resemblance to Madiba.
Twitter user, @PalesAsantewa, asked, “Yoh. Is this evolution??”
