- Percy Tau scored 2 goals for Royal Union St-Gilloise on Thursday as they qualified for the Belgian Cup quarterfinals
- Union will now meet Genk on December 18
- Tau has now scored 6 times from his 15 starts for the second-tier club side
Percy Tau was the hero on Thursday as his brace propelled Royal Union St-Gilloise to a 3-2 victory over Knokke in the Belgian Cup.
The victory means that Union will now come up against Belgian powerhouse, Genk, on December 18.
However, following their upset victory over top team Anderlecht, Tau’s team should not be overawed by the occasion.
Briefly.co.za noted that Tau’s 2 goals showcased his talent perfectly.
The first was created thanks to a well taken turn and low drive into the left corner.
The Bafana Bafana international’s second showed him running onto a through-ball and smashing it through the Knokke goalkeeper.
Times Live reported that Tau’s brace now brings his goal tally to 6 from 15 starts for the second-tier side.
He is still contracted to Brighton & Hove Albion but the English Premier League side arranged the temporary loan move to Belgium.
Although the move was widely criticised, it seems to have inspired some great form for the attacker following great displays for Bafana against Nigeria and Paraguay.
