Marta Rubilar (54) went missing for a few hours after she was kidnapped on Friday morning.

The Durban woman was attacked by a group of men on Friday morning close to her workplace in Powell Road.

Video footage showed a grey Polo stopping alongside her before the men got out and forced Rubilar into her grey Polo.

A representative for Marshall Security confirmed that paramedics went in search of Rubilar at around 10h30 on Friday to check if she required medical attention.

Times Live reported that she was reportedly safe and in police custody shortly after the hijacking incident.

The Marshall Security spokesperson, Kyle van Reenen, criticised people for spreading fictitious reports via social media.

Briefly.co.za gathered that the circulation of the initial video footage with exaggerated claims may have created panic amongst some.

Van Reenen said, "We must caution people about sharing unverified reports."
