Two criminals were caught on video brazenly stealing a parked car's number plates in broad daylight.

Intelligence Bureau SA, an investigative network, shared the CCTV footage on its Facebook page yesterday, gathered.

It accompanied the footage with the caption, "This is how the criminals do their number plate shopping to commit Crime with!"

The operation took less than 15 seconds. It's unclear where and when the incident took place. The footage has however gone viral, racking up over 82,000 views so far.

It left social media users outraged at the criminals. Some commenters questioned why it was so easy to remove the plates.

Fikile Mabucks wrote, "Law states always pop rivet your number plate. Dealers should do.this before cars leave their premises."

Others had some harsh words for the two thieves. Johan Schwemmer said, "This just gave me an idea to wire a live stun gun to the inside edges of my number plates."

Seono Reuben also wrote, "Just when I thought they were going to steal that car and change plates, then this? What is it that these morons don't steal?"
