The National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) posted 2 hilarious videos via Facebook recently.

The posts have gone viral showing a Santa Clause impersonator arriving by boat to Bakoven beach in Cape Town.

As the boat gets to shore, Santa is seen tumbling down as he attempts to get off the boat.

The embarrassing moment was not only witnessed by a large crowd of people but also captured on video.

NSRI shared 2 videos of the incident from different angles.

The first one was viewed nearly 2 million times, making it rather hard for Santa to live down.

Briefly.co.za also noted the giggling of the NSRI staff in the background – perhaps what a group of naughty elves would sound like.

Although the moment wasn’t planned and was completely inadvertent, this Santa has already succeeded in bringing some festive cheer to Cape Town.
