CCTV footage captured the moment a group of four people stole a handbag at a Spur restaurant in Tiger Valley, Cape Town.

Louis Kzor Fourie posted the video on his Facebook profile recently, Briefly.co.za gathered. He jokingly referred to the group as a family.

Louis and his family were sitting at a table behind three people — a man, woman, and young boy. His wife had placed her handbag on the floor.

The young boy is seen taking the handbag and pushing it over to the woman discreetly along the floor. The woman then pushed it to her right hand side next to the aisle.

Another woman, who was evidently part of the plan, then appeared, calmly took the handbag, and walked away. The three individuals at the table then immediately left the restaurant.

No one noticed the slick operation until it was too late. Louis said the handbag contained cash, a Christmas present to his daughter, and a keyless car key "that is going to cost a few thousand to replace."

He appealed for help in identifying the "family:"

If you recognise this tight-knit family of moral standings could you please inform them of the mistake they made by taking the wrong bag....my wife's.
