In an unexpected move the African National Congress has revealed its plans to assist Jacob Zuma in paying his exorbitant legal bills. This follows the recent court order holding the former president personally accountable for fees racked up in criminal matters
The ANC has thrown a curve ball by announcing its plans to come to the aid of former president and ANC member Jacob Zuma.
Dakota Legote ANC's acting national spokesperson spoke to Morning Live has revealed that the party will be donating money to help Jacob Zuma.
“We are owning up to this particular matter. Members of the ANC will either through donations and other forms assist the former president both as the leader of the ANC and the former state president of the republic. I don’t forsee any problem.”
Briefly.co.za has reported that Jacob Zuma has finally been held accountable for the massive legal bill he has thus far been expecting to come out of taxpayers pockets.
So far the estimate that the former president is expected to repay sits at R16 million from the last 13 years. That fee might rise up to R50 million to include the court appearances from 2018.
