Video of Intercape driver's reckless and negligent driving goes viral

Intercape has suspended one of its drivers after a video of his reckless driving went viral on social media

A video shared by one of the passengers on an Intercape bus showed how the bus overtook two trucks not only around a corner but over double solid double lines.

Kiewiet Pretorius took to Facebook to share the video, saying that they had been travelling from Bloemfontein to Durban on December 13 when the incident had happened.

The video certainly caught many peoples attention with almost 4000 shares and 110 000 views. Many were calling for the driver to be reported whilst others criticized the lack of care for his passenger's lives.

Intercape has suspended one of its bus drivers after a video of him driving recklessly went viral on social media at the weekend.

Intercape management responded to the matter by confirming the driver had been immediately suspended and will be facing a disciplinary hearing.

Additionally a charge of reckless and negligent driving may well be opened against the driver in Durban.

"The management of Intercape can assure the public of Southern Africa that this is not the standard of service. Zero tolerance will be enforced," said a spokesperson for the company.

"Intercape regrets and apologies for the unfortunate incident."
