South Africa Live, a Facebook page, posted a video of a cop who pulled over a motorist in Durban's central business district.

In the video, it's clear the driver was not happy that he was pulled over and is heard shouting at the cop. A woman tries to calm the situation, but to no avail.

One of the two cops in the video then loses his cool, walks over to the driver and smacks him.

People were not impressed by the cop's behaviour:

Sibiya Lindokuhle Nhlakanipho commented:

"Recently there was a picture of black police woman arresting a white lady and the caption was totally different and the comments. Since now is black on black, people are praising the cops, matter of fact what the police are doing in the video is wrong and they should be charged with assault. Vuka dakie they only find it fit when we beat each other"

Ed Muyich wrote: "I don't care who is right here and who is not, but if he slaped me, that would be, either mine or his, last thing to do."

Others pointed out the driver threatened the cop and praised the officer's actions:

Jongizizwe Modecai commented: "Dt police officer mst b promoted... Handled situation very well..."

Diana Ensor commented: "Well done officer... People need to respect the law!"

Thubelihle Majola wrote: "Nice one officer, wish it was more!!!!"
