A warrant of arrest has reportedly been issued for Zimbabwe's former first lady, Grace Mugabe. She's accused of assaulting a South African model, Gabriella Engels but was not prosecuted thanks to her diplomatic immunity.
According to the activist group AfriForum, a warrant of arrest has been issued for Grace Mugabe for her alleged assault of SA model Gabriella Engels.
Zimbabwe's former first lady made headlines when the model first accused her of the attack.
Briefly.co.za reported that Grace escaped prosecution because of her diplomatic immunity as the first lady of Zimbabwe.
However, as the report by EWN states, AfriForum's Kallie Kriel took the matter to the High Court, and it has been referred to the SAPS for investigation.
Police investigated the matter and we can report now that a warrant of arrest has been issued for Grace Mugabe so it seems that justice is going to take place and I also want to thank Advocate Gerrie Nel and his team for playing a huge role to get this matter to this point where there can be justice for Gabriella Engels.
It is not clear yet what steps will be taken to make sure that Grace will appear in court in South Africa.
The National Prosecuting Authority reportedly informed Gabriella of the developments in the case.
