Fans saddened as kwaito star Mavusana died on his 46th birthday

Kwaito fans were shocked and deeply saddened by news that Mavusana passed away in his hotel room on his 46th birthday. The musician behind SPK Eyethu will be sorely missed by South African music lovers.

Mavusana's other half, Ann Msomi, shared the tragic news with The Juice on Wednesday, 19 December, that he had passed away on the 18th.

The kwaito star was working on doing promotions with cellular group MTN, and it was a team of the group that found him in his hotel room.

According to a report by News24, the team wanted to wish Mavusana a happy birthday.

Mavusana was adored by his fans and were responsible for tracks like Summertime. He was also part of the popular group, Oda Meesta.

Briefly.co.za gathered that it is not clear yet what the cause of death was.
