It's been almost a year since Robbie Malinga Jnr lost his dad, Robbie Malinga, the hit music producer. Since then, Robbie was often in the news for his lifestyle choices.

Earlier this year, he shared snaps of himself with designer clothes, flashy cars and expensive jewellery on his dad's social media page.

It got Robbie a lot of negative attention from people who accused him of wanting to profit off his dad's fame.

However, according to a report by TimesLIVE, people have it all wrong and they don't understand him.

Robbie said he is more than just a brat:

People think that I am just this spoilt kid that is unruly and I get what I want. It isn’t like that. I am raised well. People can say what they want about me. I am just being a boy. I don’t listen because they people think they know me but they don’t.

A few weeks ago, Briefly.co.za reported on how Robbie attended the Feather Awards in November with his own security team who walked by his side the entire evening.

The young man said he really does have an interest in music but wants to focus on his school work first.

I am really interested in music but I need to finish school first. I have to focus on that. I also want to get a degree in sound engineering, get a qualification, before I try make it as an artist. I know that my dad was a famous musician but I am my own person and I want to make it big on my own merit.

We're sure his father would be proud of his choice to be responsible and mature, if not his choice of social media posts.
